Twenty-six classrooms with natural light on two sides and movable tables that regroup in under a minute.
Our classrooms are sized for the division, not the other way round. A division is kept to 25 children in the pre-primary years and 35 in the primary years, seated at movable tables that can be pulled into groups in under a minute, which is what an activity-led lesson needs.
Every room is lit naturally on two sides and cross-ventilated, so it stays bright and comfortable through the day. Each class keeps its own display board, and the term’s work goes up on it as it is done — which is usually the first thing a visitor notices.
Where a lesson genuinely benefits from something on screen — a simulation, a map, a piece of recorded music — a portable projector is brought into the room and set up for that lesson. Because the projectors travel to the lesson rather than sitting in every room, they are used deliberately rather than as background, and the rest of the time the class belongs to counters, chalk and conversation.
