English Language Lab

Planned for the next phase

A listening-and-speaking lab is part of the next equipment phase; structured spoken-English work runs in the classrooms meanwhile.

A dedicated language laboratory — headsets, recording and playback, and graded listening material — is on the school's equipment plan and is not yet installed. We would rather say so than describe a room that does not exist.

The work it will support is already happening in the classroom: daily reading aloud, recitation, structured conversation, debate and dramatised reading, with our own primary English series providing the graded material.

What it holds

  • Reading aloud and recitation from Grade I
  • Structured conversation and picture-description practice
  • Debate, elocution and dramatised reading through the year
  • Graded readers from the library’s English collection
  • Our own faculty-written primary English series

Come and see the school on an ordinary day — call the office and we will keep someone free to walk you around.
