Table tennis, chess, carrom and the traditional Indian games that come out when the monsoon closes the ground.
The indoor games rooms are in constant use — through the monsoon, in the lunch break and after school. Table tennis, chess and carrom are the mainstays, alongside board and strategy games and a set of traditional Indian games.
Table tennis enhances reflexes, concentration, hand–eye coordination and strategic thinking, and children are prepared for competitive events. Chess is taken seriously enough to be coached: children learn notation, openings and endgames, and an inter-house chess tournament runs each year, while carrom improves precision, focus and coordination.
