Extinguishers on every level with a refill schedule, a hose and hydrant provision, marked exits — and drills the children have actually practised.
Fire safety on the campus rests on three things: the equipment, the maintenance record behind it, and the drills. Extinguishers of the appropriate class are mounted on every level and in the laboratories, kitchen area and electrical rooms, each with its service tag and refill date.
Exit routes are marked and kept clear, an assembly point is fixed on the ground, and evacuation drills are held with the whole school. Staff are trained on the extinguishers, and a group of senior children is trained alongside them.
