Yoga Space

Yoga and mallakhamb for every grade, in the multipurpose hall through the monsoon and on the ground the rest of the year.

At Bhaktivedanta Model School, yoga is an essential part of our Pancha Kosha Vikas approach to holistic development. Regular sessions of yoga, pranayama and mindfulness enhance physical fitness, mental clarity, emotional balance and self-discipline.

Through guided practice, students cultivate healthy habits, inner harmony and resilience, empowering them to lead balanced and purposeful lives. Yoga is timetabled for every grade and taught by a trained instructor in the multipurpose hall on matting, and on the open ground in fair weather.

Alongside it we teach mallakhamb, the traditional Indian pole gymnastics that builds grip strength, core stability and — as any child who has tried it will tell you — a good deal of nerve. Both are taught for strength, balance and attention rather than for display.

What it holds

  • Asana, pranayama and relaxation graded by age
  • Mallakhamb for strength, balance and confidence
  • Trained instructor; matting for a full division
  • Held in the multipurpose hall and on the ground
  • International Yoga Day observed with the whole school

Come and see the school on an ordinary day — call the office and we will keep someone free to walk you around.
