Proctorial Board
Senior children who hold real responsibility for the tone of the school — appointed, briefed, trained and reviewed.
The Proctorial Board is the school's senior student body, drawn from Grades IX and X and appointed by the Principal on the recommendation of the class teachers. Its members are the School Captain and Vice-Captain, the House Captains, and proctors with named portfolios.
The Board is given genuine duties: assembly, corridor and staircase discipline at changeover, punctuality and uniform checks, the lunch break, dispersal and bus lines, and the notice boards. It is a position of trust and it is reviewed each term — a proctor who uses the badge badly loses it.

How the Board works

Appointment
Recommended by class teachers, appointed by the Principal, invested at a formal assembly in June.

Briefing
Written duties, a training session on what authority does and does not include, and a teacher mentor for each portfolio.

Weekly meeting
The Board meets the Principal weekly to report and to raise what children are actually complaining about.

Review
Performance reviewed each term. Proctors may be replaced; the record is written into their school leaving reference.
Proctors have no power to punish. Their job is to notice, to set an example and to report — discipline remains with the teachers.
