Examination & Assessment Policy
The full assessment scheme: components and weighting, grading scales, promotion criteria, accommodations and remedial support.
Assessment follows the CBSE scheme of continuous and comprehensive evaluation. Two ideas govern how we use it: assessment is meant to inform teaching, and a report card should describe a child rather than rank them.
Scholastic assessment, Grades VI to X

Assessment at the earlier stages

| Paudha · Grades I–II | Continuous assessment through activity, oral work and worksheets; descriptive report card |
| Paudha · Grades III–V | Periodic tests and term examinations with grades, plus portfolio and subject enrichment |
| Ped · Grades VI–X | The full CBSE scheme above, with board-pattern papers from Grade IX |
Co-scholastic assessment
Graded descriptively on a three-point scale, and reported alongside the scholastic result rather than as an afterthought.
- Work education, art education and health and physical education
- Discipline: attendance, sincerity, behaviour and values
- Participation in clubs, house activities and community service
- A written comment from the class teacher on each child
Promotion, support and accommodations
- Promotion on the year’s overall performance and a minimum of 75% attendance
- A child at risk is identified by the mid-year and a written support plan is agreed with parents
- Remedial support scheduled within school hours, not after them
- Re-test opportunity as the CBSE scheme provides, before any decision on retention
- Approved accommodations — extra time, scribe, reader, separate room — arranged on record
- Answer scripts shown to parents at the meeting following each examination
- No class ranking published at any grade
- Malpractice dealt with under the discipline policy, with the parents heard
